The Pirates hit Lynn (5-5) early, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a double by Josh Harrison and an RBI single by Josh Bell. It's the fifth straight loss at home for St. Louis, who drops to a season low seven games under .500 and falls into fourth place in the National League Central Division. Harrison added a home run in the sixth to put Pittsburgh ahead 4-1, then things came unglued for St. Louis in the sixth as the Pirates sent nine hitters to the plate.
