Rev Group Inc., the Wisconsin-based company that operates a combined ElDorado Mobility and Capacity of Texas plant in Longview, said Thursday it bought Midwest Automotive Designs. Based in Elkhart, Indiana, Midwest Automotive custom-builds RVs and LCT vans on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis and the newly introduced Dodge ProMaster chassis. Midwest Automotive Designs is a custom van "upfitter" that develops and manufactures luxury vehicles for end segments that include motorhomes, shuttle vans and limousines. Rev Group designs, manufactures and distributes specialty vehicles and related aftermarket parts and services. It announced in September plans to move its mobility van plant from Salina, Kansas, to Longview, where Capacity of Texas was already located.
