The model comes in four grades: T5 FWD Momentum, T5 FWD Inscription, T6 AWD Momentum, and T6 AWD Inscription. At that price, the flagship S90 competes against the Genesis G90 (starting MSRP $68,100), Mercedes-Benz S-Class (starting MSRP $96,600), Lexus LS (starting MSRP $72,520), Cadillac CT6 (staring MSRP $56,790), and BMW 7-Series (starting MSRP $81,500). The 2017 Volvo S90 has quickly and quietly driven into place as one of the best luxury sedans on the market. Don't be mistaken -- the Volvo S90 isn't a bargain buy. Volvo packs $100,000 worth of luxury into the sedan, especially in the T6 AWD Inscription grade.

Automotive Minute: Mercedes GLS proves functional utility and luxury are not mutually exclusive
The GLS-Class is the flagship Mercedes-Benz SUV and used to be the GL-Class. Inside, the luxury of Mercedes-Benz is showcased in a design that is functional for families without losing its high-end touches. Unlike some of its competition, the GLS drives like an SUV but not a truck. The GLS comes in three variants- GLS450, GLS550, and AMG GLS63. In my weeklong test, those numbers rang true making the full size luxury SUV one of the most fuel-efficient on the market.

Automotive Minute: Hyundai Ioniq delivers counter punch to Toyota's Prius Prime (SLIDESHOW)
The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is starting to arrive at dealerships nationwide now. The starting price of the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is $22,200. Even in Sport mode, the Ioniq Hybrid quietly purrs along, in contrast to the loud engine powering the Chevrolet Volt. Unlike the Prius and Prius Prime, the Ioniq isn't quirky for the sake of being quirky. I don't like the split window in the Prius or Prius Prime and I don't like it in the Ioniq.
