- DETROIT - The North American International Auto Show opened to the public Saturday and the first day included the debut of Batman's new ride.Attendance for the kickoff to the public show was 109,643, which is an increase of more than 2,000 people from the previous year, show officials said.More than 5,100 journalists, plus nearly 40,000 executives, designers and engineers, and nearly 13,000 charitable folks, helped create momentum to draw the big crowds, officials said.
